Living Recipes

Of course, food is about much more than taste. Food is often associated with entertainment and with pleasure, health and happiness.

It is also about creativity, inventiveness and practicality - dealing with seasonal variety, climate, economics and family tradition.

Over many years food-eating rituals have drawn people together, and have helped to form communities, traditions, ceremonies and social histories.

Recipes are often handed down and treasured from generation to generation. They enrich our lives and are as much about the past, who we are and where we come from as they are about current lifestyles and trends.

Do you have a dish or a meal that stimulates a memory, stirs a happy or nostalgic time or resonates a strong sense of place?

If you have a recipe you’d like to share please upload it to the Festival blog, email it to info@tastefestival.com.au, bring it with you to the Festival and drop it in the recipe collection bowl, or write in our recipe books at the Searson Buck InfoShack. Don’t forget to include your name and contact details.

During 2009 we will conduct several cooking and testing sessions and will begin to compile a ‘living taste’. We look forward to sharing your culinary memories. You can track our Living Recipes on the blog throughout 2009 and into future Festivals.
