Whatever the day, whatever the way, Hobart’s beautiful Parliament House Lawns puts on the Festival fun for the whole family.
Consider it your official family fun zone!
The space comes alive with sporting activities and games, outdoor board games, jumping castles and kids’ rides, workshops, face painting, buskers, performers and other entertainment. Enjoy one of the stage shows – from Tutti Frutti’s Ski Boom show, to the Incredible Travelling Flea Circus. The guys from Keshie return for more kids’ percussion workshops; and local dance and theatrical groups take to the stage with a whirlwind line-up of movement and sound. And for the ‘big kids’ who prefer things a little more laid-back, feel free to watch the littlies go crazy from the comfort of one of our Festival beanbags!
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food and refreshments. Kids of all ages will love the vibrant Coles Kids in the Park program. And, back by popular demand, Kate and the crew from Making Food Fun will offer cooking classes so budding chefs can create something simple, healthy and colourful.
And the kids aren’t left out of the New Year’s Eve celebration, either – join us on the Lawns to enjoy a great movie before the Family Fireworks at 9.30pm.
